100 K hands of RunBad!

So for my last 100 k hands or so stretching since about the start of May, I have run farther below EV than I have in a long time. I believe I am now at roughly 40 buy-ins under EV for this stretch, which was bound to happen due to all the run-good at the start of the year. The good news is that I am still making money and still able to put in the hours...

Charity Coaching

So all spots for the charity coaching seem to have filled up. It went really, really fast and that makes me really happy that people were so interested in the coaching as well as some Karma EV.

Big apologies to the people that I wasn´t able to fit in, I certainly would love to do some more charity coaching in the future!

Take care all,

Ben

Bye Leggo

As many of you guys may have noted, I have not updated my blog nor made any new videos for a while. I decided to join Leggo in December, and from february onwards becoming a student alongside the grind was more timeconsuming than I could ever have imagined.

I can either do what a lot of people do, which is to stay on the roster and release videos somewhat infrequently which is fine, or move on, which I have chosen to do.

Making videos is a really fun process, mainly for the feedback you get from them, but joining a training site becomes so much more time-consuming than anyone can ever expect (for instance the whole bumhunter debacle, which I never expected). In the end, if your life is really busy overall, it starts cutting into your grinding time, which is not good for me as I don´t plan to be playing this game for more than two or perhaps a maximum of three years counting from today. Aejones and I did try to iron out a deal which would suit both parties, and I owe a lot of thanks to him and feel flattered that he worked so hard to get me to stay. In the end however, we couldn´t reach a deal where I felt that making videos would have any noticeable net effect on my end of year bottom line, and as fun as the experience is, after some time you realize that you may be giving up too much by putting your game out there for your immediate competitors benefit for very little money which is why I guess so many people stop making videos after a while, especially if they have fairly standard deals and are making significant amounts already playing the game. I would have loved staying on if we could have reached an appropriate arrangement that I felt was a little further away from the standard deal, but alas, can´t get everyhting you want in life :). Of course, that is why so many people do the private coaching, as it combines the great feeling of teaching somebody else something new and adding to their livelihood whilst being able to justify it financially. I have nothing but good things to say about Leggo, Aaron, Matt and Vitas. Their product and the community too, is great.

I will however dedicate a few more hours to the Leggo community now that I have your attention for the last time. I will be spending two or three days starting next week doing charity coaching as thanks for some great things happening in my life recently. Basically, I´ll be coaching for roughly 10 hours (maybe more if we have time over those days and I feel I can keep the quality up) at a reduced rate, with all the money going to charity. So if anybody was planning on making a donation anyway, now is a good opportunity to donate a little more on top of that and get some coaching as well.

I will not be coaching anyone that plays 1 k nl, and prefferably not 600 nl either. Essentiall, the lower the stakes you play, the farther ahead in line you are with any of my private students getting ahead in line as well. But I am mainly looking for people playing NL 100 / 200 / 400, trying to make that move up to nl 600 / 1000 / 2000. Oh, and strictly 6-max btw.

My usual rate is 475 / hr, and I´ll be charging 275 / hr for this if you play nl 400 as your main game, 245 if you play nl 200 as your main game, and 215 if you play nl 100 as your main game. It´s for charity, so scouts honour please :) If you want to book two hours, which is max and standard for me when I do my usual coaching, you can request and we´ll see how many people are interested.

The format will hh reviews only, so you´ll need to put up 9-10 hands that you think would be appropriate for this on weaktight.com, send me the links with comments attached through a pm, and we´d go from there. Hands really only serve as a base plate for discussion around other concepts that are applicable to 6-max games, so they really don´t have to be perfect. Also, make sure you come prepared with any other general questions and comments around the game, my brain is yours for the duration of our time and I will give you 110 %. The more prepared you are, the less time I´ll have to go through emails, pm´s etc, and the more time I can spend on the actual coaching, so big thanks for anybody being helpful with that.

All the money will be sent to Verneer who will act as an escrow for this. He is somebody that a lot of people would vouch for and I thought he would be suitable for this due to his excellent efforts when it came to the Haiti relief situation. He will, of course, give us a complete rundown on where the money goes, and my suggestion as of now to him is: http://www.savethechildren.org/. Wherever it goes, eest assured it will not go to my brother-in-law or any other family memebr that I may view as a charity, but a reputable organization.

I will also be donating all the money I made for my two videos here at Leggo.

Anyways, hope this is cool with everybody, and I wish everybody here at Leggo the best of luck in their continued efforts to get better and better at this game.
